Going back in my childhood, I was always intrigued by the
fact why there was so aplomb and joy in the festivals. But still it was
enthralling to embellish the home and wear new dresses and play around the
house. And especially the New Year’s Eve was the day best known for its party
all night tag. I was still new to it, enjoyed it as it was the one day of the
year that I was allowed to stay awake till midnight and make loud noise at top
of my larynx. There was some magic in the air which even the wind wished in our
eyes new year...!
As I grew into
adolescence, the magic seemed to disappear. Every one engrossed in their own
world of work, booze and making money. For children it has become more of a
winter vacation rather than a New Year, new day, new challenges, new sweet
nothings, new wishes and new dreams. People are not associating it with
religious content, but with drunken revelry and insane road trips with friends
unknown.
I still cannot
believe that how can people suddenly forget the true essence of New Year...
It is that day where there leads a bright path ahead...
It is that day which whispers us to leave all the worries
behind and start a lucent day...
It is that day which marks the exchange of greetings and
happy wishes...
It is that day where reaching someone through calls can be
equivalent to impossible :P...
It is that day where we yearn to spend with our loved ones
through any means...
It is that day where a family awaits to have a glimpse of
apple of their eye that had been in exile for years due to work...
These memories are indescribable and culmination of these is
an awesome feeling to relive. But with the lucrative job on the edge, people
have loved to devote this day immersed in work, work and work. Hats off to
their dedication to money and lifeless life..!!
